Key products post export growth in March

Forty-one of 45 export products posted increases in export value in the month. The highest growth was seen in computers, components, and electronic products, rising $974 million; garments $332 million; wood and wooden products $257 million; rice $223 million; footwear $173 million; and seafood $156 million.
Total import and export value reached $58.03 billion, up 17.7 per cent against February.
Figures from Vietnam Customs also show that import and export value of the FDI sector was $39.56 billion, increasing 13.9 per cent against the previous month. It brought the total in the first quarter to $107.76 billion.
Vietnam posted a trade surplus of $1.39 billion in the month and $4.81 billion in the first quarter.
Exports to Asia reached $100.94 billion, accounting for 65.6 per cent of total trade.
Following were the Americas, with $30.12 billion, or 19.6 per cent, and Europe with $17.08 billion, or 11.1 per cent.
