Vietnamese tea maker’s vice CEO holds 21.6% stakes at Yeah1 Corporation

Purchasing 6 million YEG shares at VND50.000 ($2.08) each, Phuong, daughter of Tan Hiep Phat Beverage Group’s founder Tran Qui Thanh, has become a major shareholder of the media corporation.
The THP top executive bought the number of shares from Yeah1’s two key leaders Nguyen Anh Nhuong Tong, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Dao Phuc Tri, General Director want to sell to strategic partners.
After the deal, Phuong has raised her ownership at the corporation to 6.7 million shares. The transaction was made between February 17 to February 19, statement said.
Established in 1994, Tan Hiep Phat is one of the largest fast-moving consumer goods businesses in Vietnam with several popular brands in including Dr. Thanh, Green Tea, Number 1.
Recently, the corporation’s founder told Bloomberg that he planned to raise $3 billion to challenge Red Bull. In the next 5 years, Tan Hiep Phat is scheduled to have annual revenue of $1 billion.
Last year, Yeah1 shares slumped after Youtube ended content-hosting agreement following an unspecified channel management incident involving Thailand’s SpringMe, Bloomberg says.
