Vietnamese conglomerate Masan Group names Danny Le as new CEO

The new Masan CEO, who wants to make the group one of the first internationally recognized Vietnamese companies as a consumer unicorn, has a Bachelor’s degree from Bowdoin College, US.
Before joining Masan, he advised financial institutions at Morgan Stanley, New York between 2006 and 2010, working with multinational clients to execute M&A, capital markets, and privatization transactions.
Before the nomination, Danny was Head of Strategy and Development of Masan. He not only played a critical role in constructing the growth strategy of Masan Group, but directly organized M&A transactions to build the Group's Strategic Platform also, Masan said.
The Masan's CEO position was held by Chairman Nguyen Dang Quang for years. However, according to the new regulation, from August 1, 2020, a company chairman should not serve as CEO.
Masan Group and its member companies and associates are industry leaders in branded food and beverages, branded meat, modern retail, value-add chemical processing, and financial services.
