Thaco to build a $2.1bln aluminum-bauxite complex in Lam Dong

This complex project has a total investment of about $2.1 billion, including a bauxite ore processing plant with a production capacity of 3.25 million tons of refined ore per year and an alumina processing plant with a capacity of 1.3 million tons per year.

The mining area has a scale of 107.66 square kilometers in the communes of Loc Tan, Loc Quang (Bao Lam district), Dambri commune, and Loc Phat ward, Bao Loc city with a total reserve of 573.1 million tons of raw ore.

The investment in projects of bauxite mining and alumina processing towards aluminum production in the province of Lam Dong is consistent with the viewpoints, goals, tasks, and solutions for industrial development, mining industry of the Politburo, as well as the orientation of local industry and handicraft development.
