Swire Pacific acquires Coca-Cola subsidiaries with a bottling business in Vietnam

Swire Coca-Cola Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Swire Pacific Limited has acquired Coca-Cola's subsidiaries with bottling in Vietnam and Cambodia, according to Swire Pacific.

Swire Coca-Cola has completed the acquisition of two bottling companies in Vietnam and Cambodia. The transactions will be Swire's first investments in South East Asia, giving Swire a leading position in one of the world's fastest-growing beverage markets.

This expansion of territories is part of a broader strategy to expand the global scale, volume, and revenues of our bottling business. Upon completion of the acquisition, Swire Coca-Cola's franchise population will expand by 15% to 876 million people.

The bottlers are currently the number one sparkling beverage players in the two countries. With young demographics, robust urbanization trends and pre-pandemic GDP growth of over 7% per year, these markets offer significant opportunities for Swire to tap into.

The non-alcoholic beverage markets in the two countries are estimated to be valued at over $6 billion and forecast to grow at over 6% CAGR 3 until 2036.
