PV Power contributes capital to a $2 bln LNG power project

PV Power partners with Vietnam Mechanical and Machinery Erection JSC, Tokyo Gas Co.,Ltd. and Marubeni Corporation to build a $2-billion gas power project in Quang Ninh province.

The company was established to implement The Quang Ninh LNG power project with a capacity of 1,500MW, an investment of nearly VND48,000 billion ($2 billion). It is the first power project using liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the Northern region.

This project was built on an area of about 60ha in Cam Pha City, Quang Ninh province. With a capacity of 1,500MW; 1 LNG import terminal for ships of 71,500DWT; 2 LNG storage with a capacity of 100,000m3/warehouse with a regasification system; The connection between the dock and the LNG storage facility is a liquid LNG pipeline with a length of about 3 - 3.5 km.

When put into operation, the Quang Ninh LNG gas power plant will provide the national grid with about 9 billion kWh of electricity per year and contribute to the local budget of VND57,700 billion ($2.4 billion) within 25 years.
