HSC among best-performing companies on Vietnam stock exchange

Ho Chi Minh City Securities Company (HoSE: HCM) was honored among the best performing-companies on the Vietnam’s stock exchange in 2019.

The securities firm was honoured alongside Mobile World, FPT, Vietcombank, Sabeco, Vietjet Air, Hoa Phat Group and other major companies on the list of ‘Vietnam’s 50 Best-Performing Companies’, according to a ceremony held by Nhip Cau Dau Tu magazine on weekend.

This is a prestigious ranking in Vietnam with the consultation of leading economic and business experts from Harvard Business School, reference from prestigious world rankings such as Bloomberg Businessweek, Fortune, Forbes.

The rankings show the business performances and reflect corporate governance capability over the past three years. Voting criteria include market capitalization, revenue, net profit in the 2017-2019 period, ROAE, EPS. Accordingly, HSC is now one of the leading securities companies with positive indices.

HSC said cumulative net revenue in 2019 was VND1,262 billion ($54.5 million). The return on average equity was 11.17%.

Earnings per share in 2019 was VND1,596. End of 2019, HSC’s total asset reached VND7,489 billion ($323.4 million) and increased 42% in compared with last year as of December 31, 2018. The cost on income ratio in FY2019 was 58% while it was 51% in FY2018.

In 2020, the firm targets a total revenue of VND1,297 billion ($56 million) and VND453 billion ($19.5 million) after-tax profit.

The return on average equity ratio in 2020 is projected at 10.8%. In the first 6 months of 2020, despite negative impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, HSC’s revenue is estimated at VND655 billion, an increase of 9.4% over the same period in 2019, profit after-tax is estimated at VND245 billion, an increase of 27% compared to the first 6 months of 2019.
