During the first nine months of this year, the corporation’s after-tax profit fell 17% year-on-year to $241.7 million, completing 84% of the whole-year goal.
Hoa Phat (HoSE: HPG) has produced nearly 2 million tons of steel, up 16% over the same period last year. The corporation is still the biggest holder of the market share with 25%. Sales volume in southern region has increased sharply to 280,000 tons.
Since early this year, Hoa Phat has exported 191,600 tons of steel, up 32%. The amount contributes nearly 10% of total sales of the corporation.
Agricultural sector is a bright area in the third quarter. Output from beef, eggs, and pigs has risen well, contributing 12% to total revenue of the corporation.
During the coming times, Hoa Phat will continue to invest further efforts in completing Dung Quat project. It is expected that the plant can produce rolled steel by end of first quarter of 2020.
