Hoa Phat produces 2.77 million tons of construction steel in 2019, up 16.8%

Vietnam’s largest steel maker Hoa Phat Group (HoSE: HPG) provided more than 2.77 million tons of construction steel to the market in 2019, an increase of 16.8% against 2018.

Of the amount, over 265,000 tons of steel were exported to Australia, Cambodia, Japan, Malaysia, China’s Taiwan, the Republic of Korea, and the U.S.

Thanks to this achievement, the Vietnamese steel maker retain its leading position in construction steel market in Vietnam.

In December alone, Hoa Phat's construction steel sales reached 285,000 tons, up 33.7% compared to December 2018 while exports reached 39,664 tons, up 81.8% over the same period.

In December 2019, the southern region achieved sales volume of about 70,000 tons, nearly 3 times higher than the same period in 2018.

In 2019, the Southern region has sold nearly half a million tons of construction steel, doubling 2018’s amount.

Sales in Southern region has recently increased sharply thanks to the supply of products from the Hoa Phat Dung Quat iron and steel production complex.

With the seaport allowing large ships to dock, Hoa Phat steel is easily transported to the central and southern provinces as well as exported, responding quickly and promptly to domestic and foreign orders.

In the 2020, the corporation plans to produce 3.5 - 3.6 million tons of construction steel. Of the amount, 1 million tons will be sold in the South.

In order to realize this growth target, Hoa Phat is speeding up upgrading warehouses and ports, promoting programs, improving logistics services.
