Ho Chi Minh City Securities Corp. reports 77% profit growth in 2019’s Q4

Ho Chi Minh City Securities Corporation (HoSE: HCM), reported VND127 billion ($5.4 million) after-tax profit in fourth quarter last year, a growth of 76.5% against the same period of 2018.

In the quarter, the company’s revenue was $17.6 million, an increase of 1.6% compared to the same period last year while expenses decreased by 18.2% from $13.5 million to $11 million.

For the whole year of 2019, the average liquidity was over $200 million per day, a decrease of 29% compared to 2018 with $282 million per day.

HSC, one of the top three securities firms in Vietnam reported cumulative net revenue last year at $54.4 million, a decrease of 26% from a year earlier, achieving 76% whole-year goal.

In 2019, the brokerage revenue of the ccompany reached more than $20.6 million, down 37% compared to 2018 and accounted for 38% of the total revenue.

HSC’s cumulative after-tax profit after tax was $18.6 million, a decrease of 36%, completing 64% of 2019 target as approved by share holders. The return on average equity was 11.17%. Earnings per share in 2019 was VND1,596.

End of 2019, the company’s total asset reached $323 million, an increase of 42% in compared to December 31, 2018.
