Boeing seeks to meet with Vietnamese companies to build a global supply chain.

The same as top companies like Samsung, Intel, and Apple, Boeing is taking steps to get ready for a supply chain strategy in Vietnam's manufacturing sector.

At a news conference on August 25, at the Boeing Aerospace Industry Forum, the country director for Boeing Vietnam Michael Nguyen reported their desire to find manufacturers and suppliers in Vietnam.

Mr. Nguyen said that Boeing currently has 7 suppliers headquartered in Vietnam, but only one Vietnamese company. In the long term, Boeing wants to work directly with Vietnamese suppliers Since the majority of Vietnamese suppliers are now connected to Boeing through Japanese and Korean.

Boeing purchased spare parts from suppliers all around the world, and discover that Vietnam is a prospective market with a highly capable labor force and professionals. In order to grow, Boeing wants to follow the ways of Samsung and Intel to expand in Vietnam.

Boeing predicts that Southeast Asia will experience the world's fastest development in the aviation industry. The area is predicted to require roughly 4,000 aircraft over the next 30 years, with Vietnam poised to set the trend.
