Binh Son Refinery targets 2022 after-tax profit at VND1,400 bln, down 79%

Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Co., Ltd. (BSR), the operator of Dung Quat Oil Refinery, targeted 2022 post-tax profit at VND1,400 billion ($61.5 million), down 79 percent from a year earlier.

Total revenue was scheduled at more than VND91,000 billion ($4 billion), down 10 percent year-on-year.

In 2021, BSR achieved the highest profit after tax since equitization with VND6,673 billion from VND101,079 billion, the company leader told President Nguyen Xuan Phuc while he visited the company. The 2021 after-tax profit was the highest figure since equitization in 2018.

Since the beginning of 2022, the refinery has produced and marketed more than 680,000 tons of petroleum products of all kinds, reaching 115 percent of the plan. Particularly in January and the Lunar New Year, the plant increased capacity to 103 percent.

Since the Dung Quat oil refinery went into operation, it has produced more than 76.7 million tons of products, generating revenue of VND1.25 million billion and accumulated profits after tax about VND27,801 billion, said General Director Bui Ngoc Duong.
