Vietnam’s newly-founded carrier Bamboo Airways will open a direct route between Cam Ranh city in Khanh Hoa province and Incheon city in the Republic of Korea from November 15.

The carrier plans to operate one round-trip flight on the Cam Ranh-Incheon route every day.

Earlier last month, Bamboo Airways officially launched a direct route between the central city of Da Nang and Incheon, using Airbus A321neo with a return-trip flight a day.

In addition to the above routes, Bamboo Airways is also operating three others, namely Ha Noi – Incheon, Ha Noi – Jeju, Da Nang – Jeju.

Last May, Bamboo Airways officially introduced the Pacific Air Agency Group (PAA) as the general agent in this Northeast Asian market

The launch of the PAA General Agent in Korea is a premise for Bamboo Airways’ progression of the regular routes connecting Vietnam and the RoK, satisfying the increasing travel and trade demand of people, strengthening relations of the two countries in many fields” stressed by Duong Thi Mai Hoa - Vice Chairman and Deputy Director General of Bamboo Airways.

Increasing exchanges between Viet Nam and RoK

In recent years, the country has been one of the most popular tourist destinations of Korean people. A 15-day visa waiver for RoK tourists to Vietnam and an increase in the frequency of direct flights connecting major cities in both countries have also contributed to making Vietnam a leading choice for the RoK tourists.

On the other hand, the representative of the Korean Tourism Organization said that the number of Vietnamese tourists to RoK increased sharply each year.

Viet Nam is the country with the highest growth of tourists to RoK in the world. According to aviation data analysis page OAG Schedules Analyzer, the number of flights from Viet Nam to RoK accounted for 44.5% of Viet Nam’s international flight volume.

The rising trend has been further strengthened when the policy of granting Korean visa was loosen for Vietnamese people, especially residents with household registration in three major cities including Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang at the end of 2018.
