Management solutions startup True Platform has raised $3.5 million from several investors, one of the largest seed amounts ever raised by a Southeast Asian company.
The company said it secured the money from a consortium comprising January Capital, Alpha JWC Ventures, BeeNext, tech giant FPT, and several individual investors.
It was founded six months ago by Pham Kim Hung, and has since developed the management platform Base, which has over 7,000 corporate users in Vietnam.
While Base focuses on staff management, True Platform helps a company work with its customers and interact with other companies.
Singapore-based January Capital has invested in over 40 startups.
Jason Edwards, a spokesperson for the fund, said he appreciated the fact that Vietnamese are seeking to reach the world through their tech products.
"This is a goal that surely needs much time, but it is worth pursuing."
Hung said: "We understand the fierce competition in the global market and the gaps between our competitors’ and our technology and experience. But we believe that Vietnamese engineers are able to solve problems of a global scale if given the chance."
