Gazprom International, a subsidiary of Russia’s Gazprom Group, plans to build 340MW gas-fueled thermal power plant in Quang Tri province.

Gazprom International General Director Sergey Turmanov and senior officials of Gazprom Group met with Chairman of Quang Tri Province Vo Van Hung last week to discuss about the project implementation.

The BOT power plant with a capacity of 340 MW will use cycle gas turbine technology with a total investment of about $297 million.

The project construction is scheduled for 27 months, and the plant will be built on 42.23 hectares in the Southeast Quang Tri economic zone and use natural gas from an oil and gas field offshore Quang Tri province.

The power plant, which is expected to be put into operation after 2023, will add more electricity to the power grid of the central region and the country in particular.
